Data Collection & Management Guidelines

MTD adheres to the DMA’s Guidelines and updates our lists regularly with the DMA’s Do Not Contact (DNC) lists for e-mail, telephone, fax and postal mail. Please contact us if you would like to learn about the State and private Do Not Contact lists that we have available for DNC list processing. LSC also provides DNC file reports and incident/audit reports.

MTD strictly adheres to, where reasonable the following legislation acts for consumer privacy, data collection and management:

  • HIPPA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) Privacy Rule, which protects the privacy of individually identifiable health information; the HIPAA Security Rule, which sets national standards for the security of electronic protected health information; and the confidentiality provisions of the Patient Safety Rule, which protect identifiable information being used to analyze patient safety events and improve patient safety.
  • FCRA (The Fair Credit Reporting Act) is a United States federal law (codified at 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq.) that regulates the collection, dissemination, and use of consumer information, including consumer credit information.[1] (Full Statute (PDF).) Along with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), it forms the base of consumer credit rights in the United States. It was originally passed in 1970,[2] and is enforced by the US Federal Trade Commission and private litigants.
  • FERPA (The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) (20 U.S.C. § 1232g; 34 CFR Part 99) is a Federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. The law applies to all schools that receive funds under an applicable program of the U.S. Department of Education.
  • Safe Harbor or The Data Protection Directive (officially Directive 95/46/EC on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data) is a European Union directive which regulates the processing of personal data within the European Union. It is an important component of EU privacy and human rights law.
